Cincinnati Reds
Hello All! I am a Reddit refugee wanting to moderate and start a dedicated Cincinnati Reds community. Please join me in what I promise to be an experience driven by you with the content you want to see. More to come on that later. First, I have no moderating experience so I am looking for someone who does who can teach me. Thanks!
>Red Leprechaun Irish Pub, located at 20 W. Freedom Way at The Banks, is showing the Sept. 11, 1985, Reds-Padres game – also known as the night Rose broke Ty Cobb’s hit record – in full Friday from 7-9 p.m. It will also sell Miller Lite at its 1985 price of $1.75.
And thus it ends. Like usual, much work to be done in the off season. Maybe the FO will put in more than a half ass effort.
>As noted the other day on the digital pages here at Redleg Nation – Bob Castellini and his ownership group bought the team prior to the 2006 season. We’re now 19 seasons in to their ownership. The Reds have finished better than 3rd place two times. >Lately, the team’s front office has really gone full into the “we’re a small market” line of public talk whenever questioned about why they don’t win more, try more, add more talent via trades or free agency, etc. Look around the National League Central. Finished doing that? How many of the five teams in it are “large market” clubs? The answer is one. The Chicago Cubs. And yet they are not the team that’s been running through the division with 1st place finishes year after year after year.
Reds release manager David Bell 1 year after a 3 year contract extension, and 1 week before the end of the season.
Thoughts? I guess the premise is our stacked infield will be traded off or shed for salary reasons thus needing a 3B.
Dominant pitching again. Where was this all year?
Dominant. To catch up, after dropping two against the Mets the Reds won 3-1 on Sunday and then this game was yesterday.
I think it was 10-0 after 3. Good game.
A rather interesting walk off but a win nonetheless.
All over but the crying now.
Here's a big THANK YOU and best wishes to one of the greats.
Adding insult to injury- Hunter Greene is out. https://www.redreporter.com/2024/8/18/24222957/cincinnati-reds-hunter-greene-elbow-injury
After dropping the last two, Hunter Greene comes to play and throws a gem as the Reds get back on the right side of the scoreboard.
Hopefully we keep it going strong heading into the all star break. Next game today at 4:10.
>The Cincinnati Reds held serve against perhaps the worst-run sports franchise in America this week, taking 3 out of 4 against the Colorado Rockies and maintaining their resident spot in shouting distance of the expanded playoffs. >At 45-49, they’re still technically tied for last place in the National League Central. They’re also just a half-game out of 3rd place in the division and a sporting 3 games back of the final NL Wild Card spot, and now have a trio of games against the Miami Marlins - who somehow sit a half-game behind the Rockies for the worst record in the NL - with a chance to further make a statement before the All Star break.
