However if someone consumes less social media because there are "less people making noise", I consider that a good thing.

Man darf dabei auch nicht vergessen, dass die Bundesrepublik eben nicht die Weimarer Republik ist und seitdem auch Failsafes wie bspw. der Förderalismus eingebaut wurden, um antidemokratischen Strömungen die Machtübernahme zu erschweren.

Außerdem kommt ein Großteil der Macht der AfD eben dadurch, dass sie nicht in der Regierung ist, aber den politischen Diskurs trotzdem maßgeblich bestimmt. Dabei muss sie nur Probleme ansprechen und keine Lösungen (außer "Ausländer raus") präsentieren, da sie dabei nicht zur Verantwortung gezogen werden kann.

Meine Befürchtung ist, dass sie sonst bis zur Bundestagswahl nur noch mehr Zuspruch erhält und eine Regierungsbeteilung der AfD auf Bundesebene weitaus verheerender wäre.
