https://my.vatsim.net/events/2-years-on-trip-to-wolf-s-fang-runway Can recommend this one next time. Although you should definitely look into programming a custom waypoint before you try to land. Spotting the runway is hard in the middle of nowhere.

Is this added to the base game, or do you need to do some tricks to get this to work?

I think I boot up the simulator too sporadically to join a VA, I've read multiple VA's that require you to fly at least once a month. Plus it feels a bit limiting in a way? Not being in a VA allows you to fly where ATC is on Vatsim and wherever in the world you want.

The oldest trick in the book of turning it on and off again doesn't just work in IT

If anyone has tested the Fenix A320 alongside it, would love to hear if that works as well

Probably yeah. Shame, hope they release it eventually

Can't wait for this one! Extra performance is very welcome. And the extra variants are definitely nice to have too!

Wow, this looks scary...
Is the full video of which the picture was taken available somewhere? I've tried looking for it but I can't find anything

I've seen a video about this plane by Tom Scott years ago. But I only recently learned this is an A310. Learned so by browsing the liveries of the IniBuilds A310 for MSFS, and there it was! It's a very cool variant for sure.

They seem interesting. Aircraft accidents always make for engaging stories somehow, added them to my list! I'll see if I like em, thanks!

I think I listened to an episode of that one yeah. From what I remember they were explaining basic stuff, and I got annoyed listening by it hahah

Had one go-around, but the landing was good for the weather I'd say. I was kinda surprised, the performance calculation showed me stopping at the end of the runway, but I stopped one holding point before the last one even! (G4 instead of G5)
Anyways Volanta showed it as a -335 fpm / 1.07G, so I'm happy

You may copied the URL of the page instead of the image URL.
Be sure to right click the image, and copy the image URL, instead of the URL of the webpage. So in case of Imgur, the URL should look like i.imgur.com , instead of imgur.com
I'm looking for podcasts on Spotify to listen to, which are aviation related. Finding podcasts is always difficult though, and using mouth to mouth recommendations seems to work best, so I would love to hear some suggestions from this community!

Good to know that posting from Volanta servers works flawlessly! Great way to reduce storage on the lemmyfly servers I'd say

Update for @sergih123@lemmy.world and @alehc@lemmy.ml:
Falling into the sun is a bit time comsuming and finnicky. Try to keep your speed low when you approach the surface, and keep time warp to the lowest you can bear.
The surface is at around -30 km. It looks like this:
Descending further... Long trip. As you approach the core your speed will pick up rapidly. When you're at the core, you'll get slingshotted out of the core at a ludicrous speed, in my case 22248.0 km/s. Interstellar travel before it's implemented?Anyways quite satisfying flying out of the sun's core at a fraction of the speed of light. Can recommend!
... (picture soon, it won't upload)
Still an enjoyable flight. Can't wait for more long haulers in MSFS! ![](https://lemmyfly.org/pictrs/image/a3b5f73f-40d9-45f2-ad91-41cf061b7e69.png)
AMD Chill limits your FPS basically. You can enable it in Adrenalin. Wish it could go lower than 30, but it's a quick way to toggle between 60+ fps and 30. Will definitely be using it when I arrive in the cruise phase from now on.
As it was just a science experiment, infinite fuel has been used... But in the end I achieved this tight orbit! ![](https://lemmyfly.org/pictrs/image/fc79d56a-fbb2-41f3-a918-568ec8eff758.png) I tried to land on the sun as well for the fun of it. The surface at 0 m is not solid. Currently debating if I wanna wait the 30 minutes it takes to get to the centre of the sun.

As far as I'm aware this is free to keep forever!

Played a little this evening. Performance is a lot better than before. Especially noticeable when launching from the launchpad. Where it froze for a second before it just chugs along smoothly now!
Hi all, Recently took the beautiful AN-225 onto Vatsim for the first time. Mostly on Unicom so it wasn't all that interesting. I would love to take it onto the network more often, but I'm a bit anxious to do so, because it requires extra care from the controllers. And if they have to give extra care to me, I should definitely know how to handle her properly. So I was wondering if anyone here has experience flying the beast on Vatsim, and how controllers handle it. This includes things like the 2 min warmup before / while lining up from the manual. Also, my main gripe with flying this seriously is that I never really know where to park it... If anyone has suggestions on that regard, I'll take any and all tips.

In the most recent FAQ they did say that "virtually all add-ons that work in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) today will function in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024". So all addons should hopefully still work. How that's gonna go with addons from third party stores, remains to be seen I guess. Would be a shame if they don't work, because that's where I got the majority of my addons.
But yeah, I'd be alot happier if the MSFS base game got lifted to this new version, and all the new content would be a paid DLC...

Agree, seems tough for Asobo to be maintaining the same game basically twice.
Today’s trailer was a short teaser to introduce Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. We are excited to share much more information about the next generation of the Microsoft Flight Simulator franchise in the coming months. We have been monitoring your feedback to the trailer very closely and apologize for our delayed communication. We would like to take the opportunity to address some of the most common questions we’ve seen. *Will Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 be a completely standalone sequel, or will it also be offered as a paid update for existing players?* Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is a standalone simulator and the next-generation sequel to Microsoft Flight Simulator that launched in 2020. Current aircraft and airports that are in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020), as well as virtually all Marketplace add-ons, will be supported in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. *What kind of support can Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) players expect to see once Flight Simulator 2024 has been released?* We will continue to deliver our Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) Roadmap which has content ranging from Aircraft and Avionics Updates, Sim Updates, City and World Updates, and also the free Dune DLC. We will continue to support Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) post the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 launch. *Will all purchases users have made from the Marketplace be transferrable to the new simulator?* With very few exceptions, virtually all add-ons that work in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) today will function in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Add-ons that were purchased from the in-simulator Marketplace will not need to be re-purchased in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Just imagine it's rotated in the right direction guys... I'll upload to Imgur or something alike next time to force it in the right direction.
Putting this here to solve this issue. Still new to Lemmy, but I'm sure this one is solvable. Posted a comment on this post: https://lemmy.ml/post/1206080 Check the same post on this instance: https://lemmyfly.org/post/1983 Now my comment is the only one in the thread. --- I think this has something to do with the language. My comment has the 'English' marking after the Fediverse icon. All the other comments do not have this. Could this be something where this instance blocks comments with an undetermined language?
Wow... This looks amazing! Probably an update on FS2020? Or a new standalone thing? Very excited regardless! Edit: New game instead of an update. Confirmed by Xbox on Twitter. https://twitter.com/XboxGamePassPC/status/1667952357663989760 > Sequel? Not an update for MFS 2020? > that's right, a brand new sequel!
Got it from here https://fselite.net/content/just-flight-previews-sounds-for-upcoming-fokker-f28-fellowship-for-msfs/ Can't wait to get a Fokker in my hangar!
Seeing as this instance and community is brand new, I'm very curious how everyone here flies their digital planes. Personally, I love flying on Vatsim. Usually I grab the Fenix A320. Right now I'm flying some different planes, hoping that the Fenix V2 update drops soon... I need that extra performance to not fly at less than 20fps constantly! Also flying the CRJ, AN225 and ATR. Might also do some VFR on Vatsim soon. But I'd love to hear how you guys fly.
First flight with the AN225 on Vatsim as well! We will stay quiet about the departure.. 🤫 Might have misread some speeds... Making this a test to see if you can post two screenshots as well ![](https://lemmyfly.org/pictrs/image/507a67f6-4a15-45d3-a622-8c80f93fc650.png)
