It's funny people still think this, they just replaced nearly my entire M1 MacBook Pro that was completely fucked because of water damage. Literally everything but the display was replaced, I basically have a new computer at the cost of $300+whatever I paid for AppleCare+ when I bought it ($400, I think?), which is significantly cheaper than buying a new one would have been

??? The keynote is immediately followed by sessions covering the APIs mostly for the features they just announced. It absolutely is for the developers as much as it is for the press and regular users to learn about what's coming.

The WWDC keynote isn't an investors meeting, it's for Apple to talk about their exciting new features that are coming and to prepare developers for what their sessions are going to be about. The announcement was made with little fanfare because it was like a "FYI, your communication with Android devices will be slightly better for them now"

I agree with your last statement, but that's still a wallet. It's just a phone case wallet, or MagSafe wallet in some cases (which feels even scarier IMO, I don't trust magnets that much)

I'm a mid-range millennial and don't carry cash, my wife is a slightly younger millennial and also doesn't carry cash. I think probably most non-elder millennials don't, but I think everyone needs a wallet. Gotta carry your ID and stuff somehow

I think of the it as the game that handed out vac bans to people because of inactivity, effectively fucking over a lot of people for the simple crime of no longer playing. (Vac bans only matter for the game that supplied them, but there's a lot of games and servers of games that check your vac ban status and won't let you play if you have one, no matter the source)

iCloud is a data backup system, it has nothing to do with the topic at hand

One records your every moment and was instantly exploited to get every piece of data you ever saw and the other does things when you ask it too and asks you before sending data off device. These are clearly exactly the same thing.

Yep, but even my softwarre separates it as a different series. I understand all of that, but it is still, for all intents and purposes, a new Doctor Who series.

They've got so much historic content to focus on and Alex Jones is definitely not going down this easy. I bet anything that if he actually stops being able to do info wars (big doubt, he'll probably just make a new company and broadcast from his basement if he isn't somehow stopped), he'll end up with a RT show like Carlson

The old new doctor who from 2005, important distinction because there's a new doctor who series starting in 2024

All of a sudden the phrase "maiden voyage" makes a lot more sense, never thought about it before

Oh interesting, I took neither to mean not fair because she doesn't fight fair and not maiden because she doesn't want to be treated that way by him. I actually didn't know maiden was tied to sex at all 🤔

It's marketing bullshit, in announcement they also said they used "heat signatures" from the photo to help determine if the person was trans lol

I just got into usenet and some of the files downloaded are ISOs. I’m trying to figure out the best way to convert them to mp4s so that I can play them through plex. I’m running on a headless arch server (Manjaro), and I’d prefer to keep the conversion there if possible. Anyone have experience with this?
Are there any good docker containers that have an openvpn + qbittorrent configuration setup in such a way that the torrents won't run if the vpn isn't running?
