This might be 100% bullshit but an interesting theory nonetheless.

Gorliias, chimpanzees and bonobos walk around at butt height and see how strong a potential partner is by their butts. Since we started walking upright boobs are closer to eye level and have eveloved to resemble butts.

I'm not an expert but an oversized pump will cause more starts/stops which will reduce the lifespan of the compressor.

I live in Sweden but my girlfriend is from Seattle so I have visited there a couple of times. There are a few cultural differences that I think play a major part in why pedestrian deaths have gone up in America but not elsewhere.

As already mentioned in this thread Americans tend to be more relaxed about using their phones when driving. It didn't seem like a big deal to read a text message or anything.

Another thing is reflective clothing. Driving at night in Washington I saw nobody wearing anything reflective at all. Here in Sweden outside of city centers at night more often than not pedestrians will wear something reflective to actually be visible.

Lastly the drunk driving culture was very different. In Sweden people would hesitate to have a drink with lunch if they knew they had to drive later that day. In America we went to a brewery whilst waiting for the ferry.

It's not so bad! There are soft bushes to land in everywhere!

But yeah, some sections I'm definitely walking.

Bought this bike a few weeks ago to go biking in the woods around my house and I love it.

I had a rain poncho last year but I've decided to get a cycling jacket for this year. This is mostly due to the fact that my commute includes a 3km stretch through fields were the wind seems to always be against me.

For my legs I've decided to simply bring a pair of pants with me that I can put on when I get to the office, this is since my legs have been drenched in sweat no matter what rain pants I'm wearing.

This is me except I have 15 minutes and half is through fields. Biking to and from work are often the highlights of my day.

I'm hoping to be home more often now that both the kids start preschool after the summer though.

I believe that karma on reddit is a big reason for the repetitive jokes that would often appear in comments instead of meaningful discussions so I don't think lemmy should have karma.
