The truth is that Loblaws is working as intended within capitalism. They need continuous profit. The CEO swears an oath to shareholders to prioritize profit quarter after quarter ad infinitum. Prices of everything will always increase, otherwise the investors bail and the house of cards collapses. No boycott is going to ultimately change that. They are always playing a game of: "How high can we increase prices today without people rioting?"
What may help is regulating how prices increase or maybe a crown corporation that isn't driven by endless profit.

I'm sure an eagle could even pick it up and fly away with it. I've seen eagles pick up mountain goats.

Can't imagine I'd take advantage of it. I'm still waiting on a postal savings system in Canada.

With all the price gouging happening and shrinkflation, changing consumer habits could spell the end of food.

I'm not sure about these "change" petitions which always seemed to me as just a way to gather user data. But, go to the House of Commons website where you will be able to view actual petitions to the government of Canada. There, you can sign them and/or create your own. If you're lucky, the government may even respond with some thoughts/excuses. 🙂

Well, if it's your house, just know that many many people would consider themselves very lucky to be in your position. That may help keep things in perspective.

I wouldn't panic. Health scares happen every now and then. This one may be more serious since it's already banned in Europe. Takes a lot to get substances banned in Canada. BHT, Glyphosate (RoundUp), Aspartame, Sucralose, MSG, etc, have all been under scrutiny at one point or another, and they are still all with us after failing to repeatedly demonstrate danger.

Thanks. Currently test driving Jerboa. It's not bad. Hoping for something that eventually closely matches the design of the Reddit is Fun (Rif) app.
