So you could just use Email in these archaic programs called Thunderbird etc. If you really wanted to use gmail. You know, without adds, without the need for an ad blocker, without AI recommendations and at your leisure.
But hey, you'd have to install something on your computer for that.... how horrible.
And who uses computers for work anyway, you can just write your essay on a tablet. (but there are also email apps on those)
It's a shittier way to work but hey it's easier.

You can be content in knowing they'll pine after youth the same way in a few decades. You can feel smug in knowing that they too will despair in a midlife crisis and look in horror upon the wrinkles in the mirror. That they too will feel the fathomless sadness of knowing that all the things they dreamed about and never achieved will weigh them down deep into murky depth.
That they too will live in the future as old people and not get to fully enjoy its marvels.

Maybe it depends on culture? I feel I am pretty normal, I don't take medication and I am content (though winning a few millions in the lottery would be nice). Most people I work with are perfectly normal too (and I work at a university in the psychology department, go figure... though maybe that's the reason).
The only one in my family who takes medication is my brother and he has epilepsy. None of my friends take any medication for mental health either or go to psychiatrists. Everyone of us is different but not everyone has some trauma in his past or mental health issues. This isn't a crpg where every protagonists parents got killed by the big evil who was also their grandparent.
I do recognize that mental health problems are far more prevalent than assumed by the general population in past times and that many people have traumas from events in their history.

MW4:Mercs would be my goto now, I have to try getting that to run, I loved that game, just don't bother with MW5, it's the most infuriating game ever.
The AI of your lancemates is so bad it actively prevents you from having fun in most battles (even with AI mod). Most missions are supremely boring auto-generated and even the story missions are mostly not interesting. And there are popup turret emplacements and tanks spawning out of nowhere all over the maps.
Almost no tactics possible.

How the heck do they know what people with their names look like?
I mean, sure they will meet some people who share their name, but, unless you have a very very common name you mostly will meet people with other names. And wouldn't your fashion be determined by your in group and social and work culture? Same with your hair, isn't that a trend most people follow? Aka 'Oh undercuts are in, everyone is having them... they look quite nice, I should get one'
or 'Oh mullets are ugly...' but everyone named Karl is sporting one?

I think it would be a great way to give money to the hosters and get something that actually helps the community. Like having the cake and eating it too. You donate a certain amount and get a sticker or something you can stick to threads like gilding in reddit. But instead of giving money to an evil corporation you`d give it to the people that actually enable us to have the fediverse.
The corporate web may be dying/reinventing itself. Everyone talks about FOSS and having a user driven experience. But one thing we don't have is a true FOSS web, a protocol like HTTP that only allows FOSS websites to be hosted and bars any corporate interest from hosting for profit. Would something like that be possible? A "dark web" but not for illicit schemes but for free and open hosted content? You go to https://website for your comporate fix and to foss:// for none "open source" content. (Stuff like fediverse, self hosted websites etc.) You'd have to have a governing body, something like the Free Software Foundation that ensures everyone hosting on the foss-web follows the open source guidelines and goes after violators.

What I am noticing is that neither has actually used the textPath element, though 33B used text-path, no idea if that exists. p.s. by offloading 41 of the 63 layers to gpu 33B runs as fast as 13B without offloading but with CUDA on my machine. Very interesting.
I hope this is fitting for this community, couldn't find an AI/LLM community that is active. If not I will delete. So, now to the weird stuff... I managed to get a CUDA version of Vicunia-13B to work on my home desktop. We had a nice and interesting conversation with a simple prompt file. Then Vicky (the name I gave it via the prompt file) changed it's name in the middle of one answer and started replying to itself (I was asking about how to store past conversations for future reference): >Vicky: Yes, it's definitely possible to modify the command to save the output to a text file automatically.
