Thanks for the long and considered response. I did misread the post header the first time.

I think you make good points but isn't this thread about lemmy.ml and the OP on lemmy.world?

I've been here since the app exodus and see way more posts complaining about tankies than actual tankie unpleasantness in the popular and top posts. I think most people just looking at the popular posts would not come across any more unpleasantness than they'd see on reddit

Fellow travelers is a phrase used to denote someone who pushes or encourages an ideology or opinion without officially being part of the organization pushing it. It was originally applied to communist sympathizers but is used for other things commonly. A race science believer might be a fellow traveler with nazis but doesn't have to be a member of the nationalist socialist workers party.

Sugar is a great example. The American sugar (and select other ag industries) are deemed to be essential so the government is okay with allotments and price supports. This doubles our price domestically. Tariffs do not make anything cheaper absolutely only relatively.

Article says "'They're going crazy,' Trump said, pointing off camera." Which I think further strengthens your argument.

I understand the frustration but Goodwill sells all that stuff to support it's job training and skills program. Here's the mission statement . Most people see it's value as a place to donate old stuff or to buy used clothes cheaply but the organization sees it's purpose differently.

That's what I'm saying. An increasingly autocratic regime is taking out resistance in other countries. It's a big step. Doing it without permission is even bigger.

Yes, Hamas that was elected as a minority party, and took over in a coup before about half of the pre genocide population was even born. The people living in a permanent refugee camp should rise up and destroy the Iranian backed terrorist group. They will accomplish this with all of the supplies that are allowed to come in. I'm sure I just took the bait but I hear actual people make that same argument.

I agree netanyahu's delegation has walked away multiple times but hamas has too. Sinwar was not the negotiator, he was the military commander on the ground so even when the hamas delegation would make progress all decisions on what goes on in Gaza went through him. He wanted a war and was (at least outwardly, judging by his writing) happy to be martyred.
I am not saying Israel is a good or consistent negotiator in this but Sinwar was a terrorist who was keeping hostages as insurance. He decided to do the attack on 10/7. This was a decision he could not get backing for from his benefactors (as far as has been reported.)
Netanyahu knows that the US will not cut off support for them. It's not even seriously discussed in the MSM. Bibi will continue to massacre the Palestinians until they are all displaced or dead. This is the only way he is staying in power. His alliance depends on settlers and other orthodox. That being said, maybe more western countries start pressuring him, cutting aid, air dropping food or something now that Hamas' leadership is being degraded.

Canada expelled some Indian diplomats and now USA is going after their agents. Next up Mohdi sends Indian troops to Russia's front line to help prosecute China's proxy war.

Are there any good websites that host xmltv info that I can just point my addon to? For context I'm using simple iptv with kodi to stream from my tuner card, through nextpvr, to other tvs in my house via the m3u nextpvr generates. I can see utils to create one but was going for just a web address and have been unable to find one. Do I just misunderstand how this should work?
[archive](https://archive.is/20240109115118/https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/09/us/homelessness-violence-kalispell-montana.html) sad to see this happening here. Roving gangs of youth harassing the homeless with support from the local government should worry everyone.
Well it was a fun few days but beeper mini is down. Someone supposedly affiliated with the project said on reddit it was on Beeper's end but people testing it say Apple has blocked something.
