I have really enjoyed Invidious in the past, but anytime I had to switch to a new server, I had to re-import all of my subscriptions, re-select my favorite channels, re-create my playlists, and re-update my preferred settings. While that doesn’t sound too bad, it got annoying as it happened numerous times and I eventually gave up. If there’s any way to make all of that easier/more streamlined, I may give it a try again. For now, I’m using a tweaked version of the iOS YouTube app and Freetube on desktop.

Update: Today’s TestFlight update appears to have fixed the issue!

Thanks for the advice. I just tried it once and it did not fix the issue. I’ll keep trying to see if they finally appear.
I’ve been very confused as to where my list of subscribed communities is, when I discovered that they’re not displaying where they’re supposed to be. Perhaps it’s an issue with my instance (midwest.social)? I only see the 4 sections at the top: nothing underneath. I’m currently running TestFlight version 1.0.6.

Yes, many! I wonder if it’s a bug. I’ll try logging out and back in again.
Edit: Nope, didn’t work. But I logged into a different account and they show up there… Maybe it’s an issue with my instance?

I go there, and all I see is All, Home, Local, and Groups. I don’t see an actual lists of my subs anywhere.

Maybe that’s my problem: where is my subscription list? I’m missing it somehow.
Is there a way to save communities as favorites so you can access them quickly? I haven’t found a way to do so.

I’m enjoying Mlem for iOS. Quite a few display options and customizations, and runs smoothly. I haven’t totally decided on it yet though, as I am still testing quite a few.
Edit: This post got me to try out some of the apps again, and I think I may actually use Avelon on iOS for now. Seems to be closer to Apollo, which I enjoy.

Older people are less likely to be diagnosed but more likely to experience certain kinds of illnesses, research suggests. Ask Patricia Anderson how she is doing, and you probably will not get a routine answer. “Today, I’m working and I’m fine,” she said on a recent Tuesday. “Saturday and Sunday, I was bedridden. Long Covid is a roller coaster.” Before the pandemic, Ms. Anderson practiced martial arts and did without a car, instead walking and taking buses around Ann Arbor, Mich., where she is a medical librarian. Just before contracting Covid-19 in March 2020, she had racked up — oh, she keeps track — 11,409 steps in one day.

Nearly five inches of rain fell on some parts of eastern Washtenaw County in just a few hours as storms swept across the area Wednesday night, Aug. 23.
