You can play the game at [oort.rs](https://oort.rs). I've found it quite addictive so far. The link in the post is a writeup of the most recent tournament results in the single fighter category, which seems to be the main category being played at the moment. I think now is a good time to get into it as no one has perfected a strategy yet and even the first place AI still crashes into the arena walls sometimes. 😅 There is an active discord server (yeah, I know 😬) with a small but nice community :)

There's a long list of supported controllers. The process for making your own mappings can indeed be a bit cumbersome, but it also seems to be quite powerful in the kind of features it can support, thanks to javascript integration.
Not sure about the library management, seems to work well enough for me.

I used WineASIO with Guitar Rig for a long time and it worked well and with acceptably low latency. It can be a hassle to set up though and I don't know how it plays along with pipewire these days.

I've never used Traktor but I like Mixxx. What problems did you have with it?

That's because they're a malware company:
this has been going on in several different forms for years now so I’m just counting the days until the next annoying pop-up appears.
The solution is to not use their products. Use Linux.

I configured uBlock Origin to block shorts so I don't accidentally watch that garbage. I consider it psychological self-defense.

Yeah we get it, we've all seen Game of Thrones, too. If you have to be a condescending dick, at least be original.

The one thing that takes a bit to get used to is the borrow checker. Advice there is don't fight it. Trust the compiler to tell you your code is wrong. Once you understand the ownership/borrowing rules, it's honestly just a joy to code in. Static typing protects you from the inevitable mess that every large python project becomes, and the borrow checker gives you the comfort and safety you've come to expect from memory safe languages without the overhead of a garbage collector.

Still working on this, help is welcome :)
I've been working on a proxy that makes it possible for 3rd party Reddit apps to connect to Lemmy with minimal code changes. Ideally all that's needed is to swap out the url for that of the proxy. Naturally it's [open source.](https://github.com/derivator/tafkars/tree/main/tafkars-lemmy) I've got it to a point where basic browsing is possible and works with RedReader and libreddit, but I could use some help testing it with more apps and of course implementing more of the API. To test with an app, you need to modify it to connect to the proxy instead of Reddit, which I've done [here](https://github.com/derivator/libreddit) for libreddit, just for testing. The RedReader dev has already [expressed some interest](https://www.reddit.com/r/apihackathon/comments/13yvzg2/rapihackathon_lounge/jnb765j/) in making the API url configurable for the end user. If you're interested, come check out [!tafkars@feddit.de](https://feddit.de/c/tafkars) :)
