overscan when connected to tv on android

on android whenever i connect my switch to my tv it always appears cropped i've tried using [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/switchroot/comments/z55rzn/slight_overscan_when_connected_to_tv_on_android/) from the old subreddit for help but it doesn't do me any good because my tv doesn't seem to have any of the settings it's referring to

how do i root my android 11 install

i'm trying to root an install of android 11 on my switch using magisk but i can't figure out where the boot image is so i can patch it i think i need to dump it or something but i can't seem to figure that out either
