And by “colourful” I mean it in the literal sense. The first place that comes to my mind is the Nasir-ol-Molk Mosque in Shiraz, Iran. The interior of the mosque, as the sun shines in through the stained glass, is nothing short of *kaleidoscopic*.

I sometimes use travel vlogs as research material when planning my trips. I feel they have the potential to give us a glimpse of what everyday life in a foreign place away from the main sights. But I cannot for the life of me stand those vloggers who run around and yell “Hello!” at locals (I appreciate the effort to learn the local language, but who does that? That’s not normal human behaviour.). Are there any vloggers who do not exhibit the behaviour above you could recommend?

By this I mean the overstimulation of the senses that happens while you are there. My answer is probably Old Delhi. From the sheer population density, the near-constant honking, the utter chaos on the streets, the panoply of religions and ethnicities, the myriad scents and colours that pass you by as you travel down the narrow lanes, and not least the choking air pollution, it is certain to keep you on edge, not necessarily in a bad way. Are there other cities that come close to, or even surpass, this?

Mine was probably the KFC in Larkana, Sindh, Pakistan (the closest city to Mohenjodaro).

I have been up the minaret at Jama Masjid, Delhi, and I have heard you can climb the ones at Badshahi and Wazir Khan Mosques in Lahore as well. I wonder if you guys have come across other mosques where they let you do this?
