Thanks! I estimate I'm at least 25% of the way through, where the last 75% will be editing and finding beta readers.
I'm in a rare bizarre situation and this is a desperate attempt to not buy any new hardware. Basically, I need a minimalist, no BS, no autoupdate, no auto-turn-back-bad-settings-weekly version of windows specifically for the purpose of running windows occasionally and only connecting my phone to it to run this one specific application https://www.samsung.com/uk/apps/samsung-dex/ Scrcpy does not trigger Samsung Dex (or Android Desktop for non-Samsung devices), otherwise I'd just use that on my Garuda MATE Linux installation. I will be tinking with wine later but I doubt it will work. Any option that involves spending money will probably not be worth it because if I am spending money on this, I'd rather get a portable monitor (they're not that expensive). Know of any specifically good windows ISO or what the gold standard of keeping a rogue OS like windows in check?

I made a similar thread a year ago if that helps: https://hexbear.net/post/185417

In my novel nothing stops any character from learning magic (better thought of as being based on chi but I've not picked a word) but some of the most powerful characters are able to inscribe chi "shortcuts" into people with no chi practice/ skills allowing them to use magical abilities without any formal understanding or awareness of chi.
I'm writing a currently genre ambiguous Sci-Fi/lovecraft/spaceopera/superhero novel that doesn't outright declare everyone is openly is Maoist/Anarchist/Stalinist/Etc., (the alien characters won't have human etymology for their ideologies) and maybe it's not actually all that political on the surface anyways, but any tips for slipping in vegan and leftist dog-whistles?
